1. Background

Central Africa still faces persistent development challenges, including rising socioeconomic inequalities, a large informal economy, weak institutions, and vulnerability to external shocks. Despite its significant potential, the region struggles to translate its strengths into inclusive and sustainable growth.

In this context, the Nkafu Policy Institute, in collaboration with five partner think tanks, conducted comparative research in six countries of the region, producing:

  • Six Country Reports (Burundi, Congo, Rwanda – EPRN, Rwanda – IPAR, Cameroon, Chad)
  • A Flagship Report on Central Africa

In order to ensure widespread dissemination of the results, strengthen understanding of the observed dynamics and facilitate the intake of policy recommendations, the Denis & Lenora Foretia Foundation will organize a series of dissemination webinars, structured in three sessions.

2. Overall objective of the series

Create a continental space for dialogue, knowledge transfer and engagement between researchers, policymakers, civil society, international partners and media around the structural challenges related to informality, inequality and governance in Central Africa.

3. Specific objectives

  • To present the main results from country studies in a progressive and accessible manner.
  • To enable critical exchange between partner think tanks, public decision-makers and development actors.
  • To identify the obstacles to the implementation of the proposed reforms.
  • To strengthen the use of empirical evidence in decision-making processes.
  • To promote the flagship regional report and encourage consolidated thinking across Central Africa.
