Leading Through Uncertainty
Think tanks and civil society organizations are essential to advancing democratic governance, sustainable development, and inclusive policymaking in Africa. They produce evidence-based research, drive social transformation, and engage key stakeholders across policy fields to strengthen governance, social accountability, and regional cooperation.
However, limited institutional leadership and management capacity, shifting donor priorities, unstable political environments, and a shrinking civic space are making it increasingly difficult for these organizations to operate effectively.
In response to this, the Nkafu Policy Institute is organizing the 2026 Executive & Strategic Leadership Program (ESLP) under the theme “Managing Think Tanks and Civil Society Organisations.”
Program Objectives
The aim of the 2026 Executive and Strategic Leadership Program is to enhance the strategic leadership and organizational effectiveness of think tanks and CSOs for increased societal impact and sustainable influence in national and regional policy spaces.
Strategic Leadership & Management
