NKAFU CORONA TASKFORCE WEBINAR
FLATENNING THE COVID-19 CURVE IN CAMEROON: PERSPECTIVES OF RESEARCHERS AND CLINICIANS
- Background
In the World and Cameron in particular, the impact of COVID-19 has been tremendous due to the high concentration of people, economic activities and resource consumption. Coronavirus threatens economic, social and medical well-being of millions and there is an urgent need to act now to protect Cameroonians against this virus.
The COVID-19 pandemic is primarily a health shock. Since the 6th of March 2020, Cameroon has been experiencing an upsurge in the number of new cases. Recognizing that this is a health emergency as the main objective, countries including Cameroon have been responding to the global health emergency with a range of critical interventions to address the current pandemic. However, the curve still keeps rising.
This webinar will be focused on discussing what type of activities should the government place priority on, what and how should researchers and clinicians contribute towards the flattening of the COVID curve, and what rapid interventions are needed to help flatten the curve.
