Challenges to Attaining Universal Health Coverage in Cameroon
The Denis & Lenora FORETIA Foundation is pleased to inform you that we will be organizing an event on Universal Health Coverage at the Foundation’s headquarters – Opposite College Jesus Marie, Simbock , on Tuesday 2019 from 10:00am to 12:30pm.
Universal Health Coverage basically involves providing essential, and quality health services, from health promotion to prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care to everyone irrespective of their societal status. However, this is far from the reality in Cameroon due to a number of challenges such as limited funds available to finance healthcare, and the critical shortage of qualified health personnel in Cameroon as classified by the WHO.
The purpose of this event therefore, is to propose policy prescriptions that if implemented, can contribute to the provision of essential and quality health services and reduce impoverishment associated with payment for health services. The objective of this event is to propose solutions through which Cameroon can accelerate its progress towards achieving Universal Health Coverage.
