About the course

The Nkafu Policy Institute of the Denis & Lenora Foretia Foundation is organizing a two-day intensive training course on scientific writing and publication, aiming to improve the scientific writing and publishing skills of young academics, researchers and professionals. The course is specifically designed to enable participants to:

  • Write high standard research papers
  • Master the editorial and peer review processes
  • Learn how to efficiently manage references
  • Pitch their research for different audiences
  • Understand ethical issues and good practices related to scientific publication

Lectures, simulations, case-study discussions, group work.

Course Registration

Once selected to join this special training program, participants shall pay a registration fee.

  • XAF 15,000 for students
  • XAF 30,000 for non-students.

The number of participants is limited to 25 and some targeted participants may receive sponsorships.

Payment: Once selected, participants can pay via Mtn Mobile Money, Eventbrite, cash, bank transfer or credit card (VISA, MasterCard, and PayPal). All bank charges and commissions are the responsibility of the participant. On-site payment is not allowed.

Attendees are required to provide drafts of abstracts or manuscripts they would like critiqued, and they will be given opportunity to discuss it with a faculty member.

As part of the training program, candidates will receive training materials during the 2 days.

Selection Process and Timeline

  • November 27, 2024: Online application opens.
  • January 8, 2025: Application deadline.
  • January 9 – 10, 2025: Review and selection of successful applicants.
  • January 13, 2025: Notice and announcement of selected candidates.
  • March 11 – 12, 2025: Scientific and Manuscripts Writing Course in Yaoundé.

The foundation offers a SCHOLARSHIP to sponsor 5 free seats for the training.
