Pr. Maru Etta-Nkwelle
Non-Resident Fellow, Economic Affairs Division
Pr. Maru Etta-Nkwelle is a Non-Resident Fellow at the Nkafu Policy Institute. She is an Associate Professor of Finance, International Business, and Economics at Howard University School of Business. She teaches in the executive, graduate, and undergraduate programs. Pr. Etta-Nkwelle has led student study tours and consulting projects in China, Ghana, and South Africa. She has received several grants and served as Project Manager for the U.S. Department of Education’s Business and International Education grant program, which aims to internationalize the business curriculum. Prior to her tenure at Howard, she was the Chief Financial Officer for the Alliance Health Benefit Plan and worked as a Financial Analyst for the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Africa Venture Capital Project. Her research primarily focuses on international finance and economic development, and she has published articles in journals such as Applied Financial Economics, the Journal of the Academy of Finance, and the Journal of Applied Business and Economics.
