Felix Agbor Nkongho, widely known as Balla, is a distinguished Cameroonian lawyer and human rights defender. He serves as the director of the Centre for Human Rights and Democracy in Africa (CHRDA), where he spearheads efforts to promote democracy, good governance, access to justice, and the rule of law. Balla is a leading advocate for the human rights of Cameroonians, particularly in the conflict-stricken Anglophone region.

His dedication to human rights is evidenced by his relentless efforts, even in the face of significant challenges, including state-sanctioned pushback and his arbitrary detention in 2017. Felix Agbor Balla’s work extends beyond Cameroon, impacting the broader African continent through his commitment to justice and human dignity.

In recognition of his exceptional leadership and dedication, Felix Agbor Nkongho has been awarded the 2024 International Human Rights Award by the American Bar Association. This prestigious award acknowledges his significant contributions to advancing human rights in Cameroon.
